Sweet Valentine's Day Look

In exactly two days from now, the most romantic day of the year will finally arrive ... Valentine's Day! If you said your anniversary with your spouse/partner, you're incorrect. But good guess!

Obviously if you're in a relationship, you're most likely going to go out for a nice date. But why have to have a date? Heck if you're single like me, go on a date with your gal pals or go solo and have an amazing time! Happy Galentine's Day and Single Awareness Day! Whatever you have planned, Valentine's Day is a perfect excuse to get all dolled up. Red and pink are the main colors for the holiday, so it's a fun idea to use those colors as well as mix some neutrals up with your makeup. And if you want some specific ideas, keep reading to get some inspiration from my Valentine's Day look tutorial!

Face

First, I put moisturizing foundation cream by Laura Mercier and use my beauty blender (sponge applicator) to blend it all over my face. Then, I use a radiant concealer by Too Faced to blend the color and cover spots or lines under my eyes, on my eyelids, and over my upper lip.

Once the creamy part is all done, I use a medium tan powder foundation by bareMinerals and brush that all over my face and neck with a a large contour brush from Tarte. Using another product by Too Faced, I brush "Love Flush Blush" (which comes in a heart-shaped mini palette!) pink blush over my cheekbones because it's Valentine's Day which means bright pink cheeks are acceptable! Although, don't make them too bright. Otherwise, you'll look like Raggedy Ann. To make it more natural, I blend it using the same brush that I used for my powder foundation.

Eyebrows

I get a lot of compliments on my eyebrows, and many people have asked me how I make them look good and even. Since my eyebrows are dark and thick, I like to fill them in to make sure they're perfectly lined. Most people use an eyebrow pencil to fill them in, but I actually use a dark brown eyeshadow from a mini Naked Basic Urban Decay palette and fill my brows using a thick, tiny eyeshadow brush from bareMinerals. It works super well and makes my eyebrows one of my best features!

Eyes

First, since pink is a main theme color for the holiday, I start off with light pink eyeshadow in my Urban Decay natural eyeshadow palette on both the eyelid and brow bone.

I think for a Valentine's Day date, it's important to go natural with makeup. However, don't be afraid to have a little fun with it! That's why I'm using my new cream pink glimmer eyeshadow from Mikasa Beauty (only on my eyelids)I've never an eyeshadow like this before! It's pink but combined with hints of gold and silver. It's so unique but natural, and it looks amazing on my eyes. I highly suggest checking it out as well as all of Mikasa Beauty's other products!

And of course, you gotta include the winged eyeliner to impress your charming date 😉

For mascara (after curling my lashes with an eyelash curler), I first start with a "Supervision" lash premier by Urban Decay which I put over my lashes and wait two to three minutes before I put the volume mascara on. Once I've waited long enough, I put my favorite mascara "Better Than Sex" mascara by Too Faced and put over both my upper and under eyelashes until they look long and layered.

Lips

It's Valentine's Day, which means I like to give use a simple but bold red lipstick by RealHer. Bold is beautiful! And maybe add a little sample of red lip gloss by RealHer if you're feeling extra flirty.

Or, like in the picture above, you can go simple with neutral lipstick/lip gloss. I love my nude cream lipstick by MAC Cosmetics, and it looks perfect with my fairytale eyeshadow.

Hair

My hair is naturally straight (for the most part) and I normally wear it straight. But when it comes to special occasions like this, I like to bring out the curling iron! I love when my hair is all wavy and fancy, so this the perfect way to finish off a Valentine's Day look. The curling iron I use is by Conair.
