Mary Poppins DIY Costume

You may as well say that this outfit/costume DIY is practically perfect in every single way!

This post is overdue, but better late than never, amirite? It can also give you an idea for Halloween next year! I wanted to show y’all my Mary Poppins costume that I wore to my friends’ party last weekend. I’ve been wanting to do this costume for Halloween for so long. I just love the character and I have so many great childhood memories watching Julie Andrews playing her. It’s also perfect with the new movie coming out in two months! 

What’s great about this costume is that it’s very simple and you don’t really need much in order to dress like her. It’s also nice because your parents won’t worry about you looking too scandalous! Not that I would ever want to look scandalous for a costume or in general. 

To dress like Mary Poppins, all you need are a few simple essentials:

• A white long sleeve button-down blouse

• A black skirt

• Black pantyhose

• Black heels

• A red bow tie

• White gloves (optional)

• Black hat

• White artificial flower for hat (optional)

• Umbrella

• Red lipstick

And voila, you look like your ready to dance among the rooftops with the chimney sweepers!
